Sunday 3rd October, 4-6pm
A view by the lake
It takes approximately two hours to fly from Scandinavia to the north of England. We are not too far away, but we still come across cultural differences when immigrating to this country. These are not major but they are, nevertheless, present. Sometimes irritating, but often just humorous and weird.
Therefore ‘The Skandis’ invite you to honour the Norwegian diplomat Franz Müller, who once lived in this house, by celebrating the Scandinavian culture.
All events are free and refreshments will be available. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink to share.

Kate Penrice – Parallel Dreams
In residence from 9th – 18th July
End event on Sunday 18th July 1pm – 6pm
I Found you, Kate Penrice
During her residency Kate Penrice will create a mixed-media installation in the Garage Gallery. The work will result from daydreaming in the space prompted by images from the German home front that she found five years ago. Many of the images are much like her own family photographs, they incite memory and wondering, as if evidence of parallel lives.
You can view the outcome of the residency and talk with Kate on Sunday 18th July, 1pm – 6pm.
The event is free and refreshments will be available throughout the day. Guests are welcome to bring food and drink to share.
RSVP by email or through the blog.
