We are very pleased to announce that 25sg will be hosting an actuation/performance by Alastair MacLennan. Visitors are welcome anytime between 12-3pm on Saturday 19th March to view a new three hour durational ‘DEID DIED’

On the following day, Sunday 20th March, Ben Ponton will host a discussion on Documentation in Live Art following a screening of artists’ films from past performances at 25sg. The films will be on view from midday onwards. At 1.30pm Ben Ponton will give his slide show followed by an opportunity for general discussion with both Alastair and Ben. Including 25sg Retrospective Documentation from Angela Jane Kennedy, David Reynolds, Improv Group, Kate Penrice, Sally Madge & Toby Lloyd

Alastair is a founding member of Black Market International and is currently Emiritus Professor in Fine Art at the University of Ulster, Belfast. Ben is Co-Director of the Newcastle-based contemporary arts production organisation amino. Together their vast experience and knowledge of performance and mentoring constitute a befitting start to the new 2011 season.

This year 25sg will focus on developing live art and critical discourse within a consistently supportive environment, encouraging artists to develop their work and skills in an active dialogue with other artists and audiences.
